Puntuale come tutti gli anni, la redazione di Metallus.it si riunisce e delibera ancora una volta il suo giudizio insindacabile sul meglio e il peggio della musica per il 2025 che si chiude. La prima cosa che si nota è che non c’è un giudizio unanime soprattutto per quanto riguarda gli album migliori. Alcuni grandi nomi, comunque, ricorrono abbastanza di frequente in positivo, per esempio i Dream Theater, i Paradise Lost, gli Helloween, i Coroner e Alice Cooper. Per la maggior parte si tratta quindi di nomi ben consolidati, anche se i Messa hanno a loro volta una nicchia di appassionati che li citano sempre fra i migliori album del 2025. Gli Sleep Token, di cui si è tanto parlato nei mesi scorsi, nel bene o nel male, non sembrano avere fatto breccia nei cuori dei redattori e sono ricordati solo per l’artwork di copertina. I The Darkness costituiscono invece un caso interessante, in quanto il loro ultimo album è segnato sia fra i migliori che fra i peggiori dell’anno.
Anche per quanto riguarda i peggiori album dell’anno non c’è un consenso unanime, segno che, forse, non si sono registrati episodi clamorosi neanche in negativo. Dal punto di vista del ricco panorama dei concerti, c’è un maggiore consenso; in tanti hanno apprezzato il ritorno sui palchi europei dei Savatage, Helloween e Iron Maiden, ma vengono citati anche i grandi festival europei, come Wacken ed Hellfest, e i nostri Frontiers Rock Festival e Battlefield. Tutto questo in attesa di un 2026 che si preannuncia esplosivo del punto di vista dei live, con il ritorno in Italia dei Metallica dopo alcuni anni di assenza, e una serie di date che faranno felici gli appassionati di concerti.

Ne ho visti tantissimi, ma vincono i Savatage all’Alcatraz. Sempre una conferma il Black Winter Fest e il Meh Suff! in Svizzera (Hellripper stratosferici). Ma il 2025, oltre al ritorno dei Sava (visti ultima volta 24 anni fa), ha riportato il Frontiers rock festival, commovente per me la prestazione di Mike Tramp e il mio ritorno a Balingen, l’Holy Ground del fu Bang Your Head Festival e ora diventato suolo del nuovo RV Bang festival (prestazione monstre dei Destruction).
Peggior Concerto
Direi nessuno, a parte una band di cui non farò il nome perchè l’esibzione terribile non è dovuta a loro ma a problemi tecnici a loro non imputabili. Mi aspettavo di più dai Dark Funeral e dai Marduk. Buona esecuzione ma poco coinvolgimento.
Migliori emergenti
Direi a parimerito Hellripper e Blackbraid, anche se sono sulle scene da qualche annetto ma a livello emergente di successo di pubblico.
